Chapter 32

Alpha and Luna

Olivia's POV

I'm walking with Kaden's warm hand on the small of my back through the corridors. His house is gigantic and I can't help but wonder if he feels lonely in it. Another sound from my stomach reminds us both why we stepped out of the room. I blush in embarrassment at how the noises won't stop.

Okay okay, I'm hungry! By now, the entire country knows it! Stop!

Turning to the left, we walk into a doorless hallway only for me to let out a small gasp. It was no ordinary hallway, no, it was a huge dining room. A long table took up the majority of the space along with almost countless chairs but that was not all. The wooden surface was almost fully covered with different dishes. The strong scent of food overwhelms me.

Too hesitant to walk into such a huge place, I nervously glance at the raven-haired boy who only smiles and guides me to the head of the table. He helps me sit down like a real gentleman trying to impress before taking his own seat at the head of the table, perpendicular to mine. "Here, tell me what you want. We have fish, chicken, beef and if you want to go for veg, we have some options there as well.", he speaks as he starts serving me.

I blush before accepting a steak on my plate. He smiles before taking one himself. Picking up a knife and fork, we start eating in silence. I keep glancing at the vacant chairs and tons of food on the table that would probably go to waste. Who cooked so much? And where did Kaden get money to afford it?

With the question in my mind, I glance at him. Kaden was quietly chewing before meeting my gaze. "Kaden?", I call out and he hums in response, "Why is there so much food..? Who cooked it? And...isn't it a waste of money and food?"

He scans the table with his leaden peepers, trying to see it from my perspective before shaking his head, "We aren't wasting anything. The chefs cooked it all and others are yet to eat." He turns his attention to me and smiles, "You don't have to worry about the money though. I have got it all covered."

Is he really that rich? But that question doesn't stay in my mind for too long because I tilt my head and furrow my brows, "Others..? You mean Cassie, Sarah...and the chefs?"

"Umm...", he scratches the back of his head, "There are a lot more people than that."

I blink before looking at the food again. It could feed hundreds. "Where...are they? I didn't see anyone on my way here. It's also so quiet. I was starting to think that only you live here with Cassie.", I speak.

"No, there are others but they all went to their rooms or houses when you arrived and have been staying out of view and extremely quiet ever since.", the raven-haired boy's answer brings a frown to my face.
